Tamiya's Mercedes CLK |
These kits include the simple and easy to put together TL-01 Chassis with its monocoque frame and shaft drive 4WD. The highly praised no-nonsense driving performance of this chassis is at last coupled with an accurate reproduction of the Mercedes CLK body.
Yet another Rally type chassis from Tamiya, it is the shaft driven TL01. This 4WD chasssis probably has the lowest cost of ownership. As with the TB01, it is shaft driven, and can take jumps very well in its stock form. The TL01 as a touring car will need a few key upgrades (not that the stock kit can't be raced, but it'll be much better with these upgrades) - the TL01 Long Arm Suspension set, and a set of oil filled shocks. More competitive owners will install the carbon drive shafts. A key point to note is this chassis can only take Stick type battery packs, at least without major modification to the chassis. | Direct Efficient Shaft-Drive 4WD. | | Double wishbone suspension, controls the feedback from the road as the tight ridgid knuckle-arms house the power delivering axels. | | This all-time 4WD chassis gets it's power from a rear-mounted Stock 540 motor, that can be upgraded when the need for speed arises. | | The power of the motor is directed through the front and rear gearboxes equally and efficiently. |
