Slow Flyers Page
Slow flyers are little, fully radio-controlled planes for flying
indoors. The reason why they call it slow Flyers is that they fly at a
speed like a man's walking. And when there's absolutely no wind, you can
fly them in your garden.
Generally you require sub-micro equipment consisting of 2 servos
receiver, a speed controller and battery pack. The system shares power
from the battery pack with the motor through an electronic speed
controller and battery management system.
Typical weight of slow flyers are as follows:
| motor + prop :
| 55g |
| NiCd batteries
(50mAh):
| 36g |
| Speed controller :
| 10g |
| Servos (2) :
| 43g |
| Receiver :
| 12g |
| The wing :
| 65g |
| The fuselage :
| 50g |
| Total weight:
| 270g |
Slow flyers have experienced explosive growth and popularity in the
last couple of years because of their price and being able to enjoy the
thrill of flying even in your backyard. Imagine flying your very own
slow flyer down your street doing wild aerobatics!
